Book A Tour

Small group tours run for approximately 30 minutes and are limited to two family members per booking. Please call the service directly to book a tour and arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your tour in order to follow COVID sign-in procedures.

During your tour we hope to:

  • Welcome families
  • Introduce families and children to Educators
  • Discuss what the family’s needs and wants are in an Early Childhood Service expectations of our service programming & documentation requirements health and safety medical conditionsadditional needsdays and times requiredrequired start date
  • Outline the service philosophy
  • Show families the indoor and outdoor environment, explaining how the environment is set up and what resources and equipment are provided
  • Explain the daily routine
  • Discuss what the service provides (morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, sunscreen etc)
  • Advise families what they are required to provide (formula/breast milk, nappies, spare clothes etc.)
  • Discuss any medical needs of their child including allergies and their responsibilities for medical management plans to be completed prior to the child’s start date
  • Discuss proof of immunisation – statement from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR)
  • Discuss the service’s Health and Safety Policies including sick children policy, exclusion periods for control of infectious diseases
  • Go through the Parent Handbook – outlining fee structure and payment, bond and enrolment fee
  • Discuss parent meetings – this may include parent/teacher interviews, parent information sessions throughout the year, transition to school
  • Explain Child Care Subsidy (CCS) providing information about: how the subsidy worksthe process of applying for CCS through their myGov website linked to Centrelinktheir requirement to sign a CWA
  • Discuss service closures (public holidays, Christmas holidays, school holidays etc)
  • Discuss arrival and departure requirements
  • Discuss how families can participate in the service program
  • Discuss how the service communicates with families (via email, notices, newsletters, online platform, website, Facebook)
  • Discuss communication preferences with families (especially for families where English is a second language )
  • Discuss the transition to school process with families
  • Provide families with information to take home about the service – Parent Handbook, relevant information brochures, Enrolment Form, website, Facebook page, Instagram page
